Call-for-papersThe MakeIT 2024 & JCON OpenBlend Slovenia 2024 is a 3-day conference is a dedicated developers' conference held at the Convention Centre Portus in the charming seaside town of Portorož, Slovenia.
MakeIT 2024 serves as the umbrella event name for this year's conference. MakeIT is centered around Oracle technologies (Cloud, APEX, PL/SQL, Oracle Database, ...), while JCON OpenBlend Slovenia is a community event with a focus on Java and open-source technologies. Both of these events are in-person and will be hosted at the Convention Centre Portus in Portorož, Slovenia.

In order to offer content for a broad audience, we have sessions delivered in Slovenian and sessions in English so that people who do not understand Slovenian can participate in the event, too.
We are currently in the process of assembling a content board of members. More will be announced soon.

Christian Köberl is a software engineer with 23+ years of experience in different areas of the software engineering process. He likes to code frontends as he loves to go deep into the backend and operations.
Christian works as the Chief Technical Architect at Porsche Informatik in Salzburg, Austria. Outside work he likes to travel and to do everything outdoors. He also organizes the CNCF Community in Salzburg, Austria.
Chris is a Senior Manager for Enterprise Advocacy at GitHub - He leads a team of advocates across APAC and EMEA that help execs, engineering leads and enterprise devs ❤️ GitHub.
He has previously worked at Microsoft as a Cloud Solution Architect, and DevOps practice lead for FastTrack for Azure, setting their global DevOps strategy, readiness plan and partnering with Azure Engineering Teams on product improvement. Chris works with developers, data scientists, system admins, engineering leads and technology execs across startups and enterprises on cloud adoption and software development practices.

Rainer Stropek is co-founder and CEO of the company software architects and has been serving this role since 2008. At software architects Rainer and his team are developing the award-winning SaaS time tracking solution “time cockpit”. Previously, Rainer founded and led two IT consulting firms that worked in the area of developing software solution based on the Microsoft technology stack.
Rainer is recognized as an expert concerning .NET development, software architecture and databases. He has written numerous books and articles on C#, database development, Microsoft Azure, XAML, and web development. Additionally he regularly speaks at conferences, workshops and trainings in Europe and the US. In 2010 Rainer has become one of the first MVPs for the Microsoft Windows Azure platform. In 2015, Rainer also became a Microsoft Regional Director. 2016, Rainer also got the MVP award for Visual Studio and Developer Technologies.
Rainer graduated the Higher Technical School Leonding (AT) for MIS with honors and holds a BSc (Hons) Computer Studies of the University of Derby (UK).
